Voyage of the Ardent Citadel Week 7

Ardent Citadel: Week 7 Summary

On May 13, 3308, the fleet carrier executed four jumps to travel 1,750 light years and arrived on station at Grea Hypooe ZE-E c13-0, a star system with a single class K star. The system/89

The nebula we have arrived at, Grea Hypooe AA-A H44, is a dark absorption nebula approximately 150 ly across. Initial surveys of the stars around and within the nebula reveal that it is essentially a giant, light absorbing ball of dust in space, only easily seen with the arc of the Milky Way as a backdrop (our image above). Despite this, there is a dense stellar field nearby, stars created within the nebula over eons, awaiting our exploration.

Congratulations to CMDR Otis D. Blake for winning last week’s ED Community Stellar Screenshot contest with his “Getting a Tan screenshot. He assures us that his stunt caused no lasting damage to his ship nor the carrier’s main engine, however he is being monitored for the appearance of additional mutagenic appendages.

After several weeks of jumps the carrier is low on tritium fuel, so the our explorers have fanned out to survey nearby star systems for tritium hotspots in icy rings. This Saturday CMDR Gelubii Pelubii found a double overlaping Tritium deposit in Grea Hypooe XY-R B21-0 in the rings of gas giant 12 about 134 ly from the carrier’s current position. Given the difficulty of mining and transporting fuel over this distance we will jump the carrier to that system next Thursday and attempt a mass mining operation over the weekend.

Thanks to CMDRs Gelubii Pelubii, Tioneal, and Otid D. Blake for this week’s screenshots.

The Ardent Citadel will depart for system Grea Hypooe XY-R B21-0 for refueling on May 20, 3308.
